Ricorderemo (“We Will Remember”) was commissioned by the Epping North Public School Band Committee and dedicated to Christine Pringle for the 19 years she had contributed to the band program.

This piece was composed to fill a gap in the libraries of young bands – there are very few slower lyrical pieces that students enjoy playing, and Ricorderemo gives all pitched instruments parts of the melody, the chance to show off their range in dynamics, and with reasonable instrument ranges. An excellent selection when your band is required to play a slow chorale/lyrical piece without musicians only playing long notes.

Ricorderemo can be performed at the slower tempo marking and completely omit the drum kit part (the beguine-like accompaniment) for a more traditional approach.
